Windward YMCA Receives Funding
Bank of Hawaii recently donated $25,000 to the YMCA’s Windward Capital project. The Windward Y Branch opened in 1950 in a log cabin on Makawao Street in Coconut Grove, just down the road from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Today, the Windward YMCA is a vibrant branch with more than 1,700 facility memberships. The branch also operates six A+ after-school programs and serves hundreds of children through Summer Fun, Intersession programs and swim lessons. OHA Supports Nanakuli Art Center
The OHA Board of Trustees presents a check of $30,500 to the Nanakuli High and Intermediate Performing Arts Center in support of its programs. The center’s students will attend the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland this summer. The money will be used for costumes, set design and other program costs. Honolulu Sunset Club Gives Back
Members of the Rotary Club of Honolulu Sunset - Liz Kane, Harold Murray, Anna Fishburn, Al Dixon, Mina Ganapathy, Paul Jurcsak, Joanna Amberger and Richard Nettel (not pictured) - volunteered a few hours on a Friday night to feed the residents at IHS. This is one of many projects the Rotary Club of Honolulu Sunset performs in the community.
