The Yoshida Ohana Wins $1,500

Driven by its mission of sharing aloha, Diamond Bakery recently collaborated with Aloha United Way and developed “Make and Bake.” The program incorporated community fundraising into a creative and fun contest, providing an easy way for people to give to a charitable cause. As a result, Diamond Bakery donated profits from three months of cracker sales to AUW and presented a check for $2,500. Nicole Yoshida (pictured front, right) and her father (left) constructed “The Ark” and “No Worries Noah” cupcakes with Diamond Bakery products, earning them a first-place contest win, $1,500 and a one-year supply of DB products (value up to $500). Pictured with the Yoshidas (from left) are Devon Nekoba, Melissa Chang, Lynn Cook, Ron Villoria, Susan Au Doyle and Brent Kunimoto.
