Marine Corps Base Receives Fuel
Aloha Petroleum Ltd. recently donated several hundred gallons of B20 biodiesel fuel to Marine Corps Base Hawaii, which is testing its use in tactical vehicles. The B20 demonstration project is the first in Hawaii involving military vehicles and is expected to last up to a year. B20 is a blend of 20 percent B100 (100 percent biodiesel) and 80 percent ultra-low sulphur diesel fuel. Pictured (from left) are Larry Adams, Jenna King and and Reggie Kamei Jr.
Longs Drugs Donates $25,000
Longs Drugs recently donated $25,000, proceeds of its 16th annual golf tournament, to Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific Foundation. The funds will be used to add a new component called DriveSMART to the only clinical driving and evaluation program in Hawaii. The new program is designed for persons 65 and older whose visual and/or motor functions have been compromised by injury, disease or age. Pictured (from left) are Ko Miyataki and Bob Ingersoll.
