High School Athletes Receive $100K
Sponsors of the Shop and Score program, presented by Times Supermarkets and Kraft Foods in Hawaii, along with representatives from the top five points-earning schools took the field with Cheesasaurus Rex during halftime of the State Football Division I championship game at Aloha Stadium for the presentation of the perpetual Shop and Score trophy and check for $100,000 for Oahu High School athletics. Goodwill Receives $2 Million Grant
Goodwill Industries of Hawaii recently received the final installment of a $2 million grant awarded by The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, to be used toward supporting the construction of Goodwill’s new Ohana Career and Learning Center of Kapolei. Scheduled to open in early 2010, the center will assist residents of Leeward Oahu in developing vocational and professional skills through occupational skill training, pre-employment screening and more.
