Hawaii Foodbank Receives $184,940
Making a difference each year, the Check-Out Hunger program, presented by Kraft Foods in Hawaii and retailers statewide, helps to feed Hawaii’s hungry during the holiday season. The results are in for the 2009/2010 program, and thanks to the generosity of Hawaii’s shoppers, the 16th annual Check-Out Hunger raised a record-breaking $184,940. Red Cross Receives Donation
Jenai S. Wall, Foodland Chairman and CEO (middle left), Western Union’s Leigh Hilt (left) and Darton Stradling (right) recently presented a check for $104,611.72 to Coralie Chun Matayoshi, CEO, American Red Cross, Hawaii State Chapter, to support relief efforts in Haiti on behalf of Foodland, Western Union and customers. The donation is the result of Foodland’s “Help for Haiti” program that ran recently at all Foodland and Sack N Save stores statewide.
