First Hawaiian Helps Shriners
The First Hawaiian Bank Foundation presented a $100,000 check to Shriners Hospital recently.The hospital is about $5 million short of its goal to build a new hospital to replace its current facility on Punahou Street. Middle School Receives Donation
Tyler Tokioka (right) of the Island Insurance Foundation presents a $25,000 check to Dole Middle School principal Myron Monte and state Department of Education superintendent Patricia Hamamoto at the fifth annual Masayuki Tokioka Excellence in School Leadership awards luncheon. The award honors public schools with principals who are visionary, community-minded and have an entrepreneurial spirit.
