Duke’s Waikiki Honors Mac Poepoe
Duke’s Waikiki recently honored Mac Poepoe as the recipient of its 2010 Ho’okahiko Award for his commitment to preserving Hawaii’s ocean resources through sustainable fishing practices and perpetuating traditional Hawaiian fishing practices. During the private awards ceremony, Duke’s presented Poepoe with a $4,000 donation from its Legacy of Aloha program to support his nonprofit organization, Hui Malama o Mo’omomi. Catholic Charities Receives $25,000
Helping to kick-start its “10 in ‘10” initiative to raise the remaining $10 million in its aggressive $28 million capital campaign in 2010, Catholic Charities Hawai’i recently received a $25,000 donation from Island Insurance Company. The donation will help fund the acquisition and renovation of the new Catholic Charities Hawaii Clarence T. C. Ching Campus in Makiki. Pictured (from left) are Charlie R.
