New dishes on the menu at E&O Trading Co.
Chef Nicholas Salvi has almost completed his revamping of the entire menu at E&O Trading Co.
Since opening, E&O has offered dishes with a Southeast Asian flair and while Salvi wants to keep the flavorful dishes, he’s determined to bring his own style to the menu, making the dishes more accessible. “I want people to come into E&O and still get those Southeast Asian flavors, but I want them to be comfortable. I want them to recognize dishes on the menu and then enjoy the different flavors,” he says. Salvi is particularly happy with his Chili Plum Glazed Rack of Lamb, a variation on a Moroccan recipe that he’s been serving up in various forms for the past four or five years.
“This dish is really killer,” he says of the lamb that comes with a sweet onion curry risotto.

Winemaker Dinner at Ruth’s Chris.
Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Restaurant Row continues its 2008 series of Winemaker Dinners Monday, April 28, with a tribute to Trinchero Wines. Priced at $85 per person, dinner begins with Lobster Tini: fresh Kona Maine lobster atop mixed greens with a honey mustard Creole sauce. The second course is Bacon Wrapped Ahi Mignon with Wilted Spinach, followed by Ruth’s Chris signature bone-in 12- to 14-ounce tenderloin cut. Side dishes of wild rice risotto, sautéed mushrooms and fresh asparagus with Hollandaise sauce will be served as accompaniments. Trinchero wines will be served with each course, and dessert is the restaurant’s gloriously decadent Chocolate Sin Cake with wild berries, served with Montevina Zinfandel Port.
