Roy’s Waikiki Opens April 27 With Fundraiser.
The much-anticipated third (on Oahu) Roy’s opening will happen April 27, with proceeds going to benefit the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii. You can expect it to be a stellar evening. Better Brands will provide tequila, champagne and martini stations, and the opening ceremony will be staged by Tihati Productions.
Admission to the benefit is $175 per person, with reservations taken by the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH) at 926-8274.
This will make restaurant No. 35 for restaurant guru Yamaguchi.
“We want to be in Waikiki,” he says.“We’re looking at dining in the future, and there’s going to be a lot of energy in Waikiki.”
Roy’s Waikiki will be open for lunch and dinner beginning April 28 from 11 a.m. For information and reservations, call 923-7697.
There’s Magic At The Hale Koa.
The Hale Koa is serving up a touch of magic with lunch and dinner this month. The annual Administrative Professionals’ Luncheon offers a little magic, a touch of comedy and a bountiful buffet including Roast Baron of Beef, Marinated and Grilled Chicken with Pink & Green Peppercorn Sauce, and Oven Roasted Mahimahi Steaks. After lunch, Hawaii’s magician Mark Allen Mauricio takes the stage with a series of mind-boggling illusions and refreshing comedy. For information and tickets, please call 955-0555, ext. 546. And the Hale Koa continues its magical buffet theme with Tuesday night buffets in April to celebrate the military child. Weekly prizes include animals from Build a Bear, Jamba Juice gift certificates, Cuddly Jungle Animals, Cirque Hawaii tickets and a Tiger Annual Family Pass to the zoo.After an allyou-can-eat buffet, children can enter to win prizes and visit booths sponsored by the Honolulu Zoo. The evening culminates in a magic show.
Tickets are $27.95 for adults and $16.95 for children under age 12. The evening begins at 6 p.m. in the Banyan Tree Showroom. For information and reservations, call 955-0555.
Manny LaGod Performs At Tower Grill.
Manny LaGod returns after a 30-year absence from Hawaii’s entertainment scene.Former vocalist and bassist with Don Ho and The Aliis, Manny was awarded Male Singer/Song Writer of the Year at the 16th annual Los Angeles International Music Awards.He will be performing at Tower Grill Saturday, April 21.
Located on the second floor of Aloha Tower Marketplace, Tower Grill will offer a dinner show on April 21 and a late-night cocktail show.
Dinner includes soup or salad and entrees such as sautéed island fish, N.Y. steak or herbed chicken breast. Cost of $49 includes one drink, dinner and gratuity.
Cocktail show includes two drinks, tax and gratuity for $25.
