The Koolaupoko, Kahaluu, Kaneohe and Pali Lions clubs played host to 30 international teens July 22 at Manawale’a Riding Center in Waimanalo. The outing was part of the youths’ three-week visit to Hawaii for the Lions’ annual youth camp. The horses were, of course, the main attraction, but families also enjoyed building bridges with their guests through games, karaoke and a feast of homemade tacos and burritos. As a new branch Lions club, Manawale’a itself joined its colleagues to welcome the teens. The riding center is now preparing for its annual Ranch Party from 1 to 7 p.m. Aug. 25 to support its mission of horse therapy for people with special needs. To join the fun, call Patti Silva at 352-1523.
