The artwork of five Oahu high school students will advance to the district-wide finals in U.S. Rep. Ed Case’s congressional arts contest, Kaha Kii: An Artistic Discovery. The artwork of the finalists — 1st place Kimberlyn Beppu, Leilehuha High; 2nd Place Cameron Pitt, Kahuku High; 3rd Place Echo Imai, Castle High; 4th Place Holden Mandrial-Santos, Castle High; and 5th Place Emi Nakamura, Castle High — will be entered into the final phase of Kaha Kii May 6 on Maui. The first place winner of the finals will have his or her artwork displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol and, along with his or her art teacher, will receive a round-trip ticket to Washington, D.C., for the June 28 unveiling ceremony for the winning artwork from each congressional district.
