Take a look at these faces, and you understand how fitting a “diversity” theme is for Kaneohe’s Day on the Bay, held for the seventh year on Kokokahi YWCA grounds next to the bay. The full theme, “Drug-free in Diversity,” indicates a goal that PACT Kaneohe Community Family Center and co-sponsors are still striving for in the neighborhoods that surround Kaneohe Bay. But on July 22, it was time to unwind, have fun together and appreciate all the natural resources we enjoy here. Whether on land or in the water, crowds flocks to the celebration to eat, learn, play and shop. Helping make the day a success were Brother Noland, Princess Ilona, Shaka Reves, Ike Pono, Kamaaina Kids, pony rides, craft booths and, of course, the ocean.
