December is concert season in Windward Oahu, and the music is building right now.

* Windward Chorale Society will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Kaneohe Marine base chapel and at 7 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church at Koolau. Directed by Susan McCreary Duprey, the group’s fourth annual free offering is “‘Tis the Season” at both venues, featuring music from around the globe and a singalong of familiar carols. The concerts are dedicated to the deployed Marines and sailors of the 3rd Battalion/3rd Marines and their families. For more information, call 254-5717.

* Enchanted Lake Elementary School’s 27member music ensemble presents “Season of Celebration,” a multicultural holiday experience, at 5 p.m. Friday in the school cafeteria. The evening includes a chili dog dinner, a slide show of Christmas lights around the world, an international search for peace, plus dancing, singing and drama. Tickets cost $5, and proceeds go to the music and arts programs. For more information, call Nachelle at 841-7311, ext. 1715.

* Calvary Episcopal Church presents “A Magical Musical Christmas Celebration” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 17 at 45-435 Aumoku St., featuring Cathy Foy, Sharene Lum, Eugene Son (age 10) and the Hawaii Festival Orchestra and Hawaii Ecumenical Chorale conducted by Aaron Mahi. The Hawaii Ballet de Corps will dance selections from The Nutcracker Suite, and Marion Yee Larson will have an art display. For more information, call 2470610.

* New Hope Windward presents its Christmas worship production, “Rescued,” at 5 and 7 p.m. Dec. 17 and 7, 9 and 11 a.m. Dec. 18 in Ron Bright Theatre. The show is free and so is childcare. Senior Pastor Dave Barr said the program “tells the Christmas message in a multi-sensory way: through creative drama, beautiful dances, Christmas music and compelling testimonials.” For more information, call 2615975.
