Earlier this month, Reynold’s Recycling Inc. opened a new certified redemption center in Kailua.

Located in the Pali Lanes bowling alley parking lot at 120 Hekili St., it should accommodate the recycling fever of the growing Kailua town community.

The recycling redemption point is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, and closes from noon to 1:30 p.m. for lunch. In addition to the marked HI-5 deposit items, the center also will accept aluminum, copper, brass and stainless steel scrap metal, wine bottles, jars and other glass containers.

“I am excited that we can open another recycling venue in the Kailua area, especially as we get ready to celebrate our 30th anniversary,” said marketing and development director Bruce Iverson. “This new redemption center is in a convenient, central location close to several supermarkets and the upcoming Whole Foods Market. We are working to help Kailua recycle and become an even greener community.”

Other Reynold’s collection sites on the Windward side are in Waimanalo (across from 7-Eleven), Keolu Shopping Center, Aikahi Park Shopping Center and Koolau Center in Ahuimanu.
