The Windward Ho’olaulea is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday on Windward Community College’s Great Lawn with top island entertainment, crafts, food, keiki activities, a white elephant and used book sale and silent auction.
The 10th annual event, sponsored by Kaneohe Business Group and the college, will feature a trade show this year promoting organizations that focus on sustainable, earth-friendly living. Exhibits will range from solar power and “green” vehicles to hydroponics and healthy, organic products.
“Holomua Me Kahi Pu’uwai (Moving forward with one heart) is the theme for our 10th anniversary, which reflects the spirit of ‘ohana and aloha,“said ho’olaulea chairman Herb Lee. “We wanted to send a message of hope in these challenging times - that we’re one community and need to support each other.”
Entertainment includes Na Kupuna O Ko’olau at 10:15 a.m., Saloon Pilots at 11:15, Pila Nahenahe at 12:15 p.m., Hawai’i Loa at 1:15, Mailani at 2:15, Halau Hula O Napunaheleonapua at 3:15, Jerry Santos and Friends at 4:15, Holunape at 5:15, Teresa Bright at 6:15 and Sean Na’auao at 7:15.
Hokulani Imaginarium and the Center for Aerospace Education will have open houses; there’s a 5Rs scavenger hunt and demonstrations by WCC culinary students.
