KCC’s Kupuna Education Center has classes for seniors on exercise, osteoarthritis, semi-retirement and more beginning next week.

“Our classes are meant to keep seniors aging healthy and thriving,” said assistant Leah Ching. “We want to help prepare them to plan out this next phase of their lives and to age actively.”

Classes are listed below. * Boomers Seeking Career Transition, 6 to 8 p.m. June 7-28 in Kopiko 128: Eight class hours on the benefits of re-careering, semi-retirement or volunteer work. Fee is $50. To register, call 734-9211.


 

* Level I: Elder Pal Course of Job Seekers in Home Care, 5 to 7 p.m. June 15-26 in Kopiko 240. Fee is $150. For details on orientation and qualifications, call 734-9108.

* Your Doctor Wants You to Exercise, Now What?, noon to 1 p.m. June 18 in Kopiko 209: a free discussion of active aging.


* Oh, My Aching Joints: The Benefits and Challenges of Physical Activity while Dealing with Osteoarthritis, noon to 1 p.m. June 29 in Kopiko 209: lecture by KCC’s exercise and sport science program coordinator. For more information, call 734-9108.
