* ORCHIDCLUB Kaimuki Orchid Society meets at 7 p.m.May 4 at Kilauea District Park. Guest speaker Kean Matsumoto will discuss honohono orchids. Call 377-5005.

* PALOLO GOLF Palolo Chinese Home hosts its Dynasty Invitational Golf Tournament May 6 at Ala Wai Golf Course. Fee is $150. Call 739-6033.

* HANAUMA TALKS Hanauma Bay Education Program hosts a free lecture, “The Science of Shipwrecks” by UH doctoral candidate Derek Smith,at 6:30 p.m.May 6 at the visitor center. Talks by student researchers are set for each Thursday in May. Call 397-5840.


 

*BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank has donor drives from 7 to 11:30 a.m. May 6 at Saint Louis School, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 12 at Kalani High School gym, 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 16 at Kahala Mall, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 21 at Kaimuki Municipal Parking Lot and 3 to 7 p.m. May 26 at Hawaii Kai Towne Center. * BOOK BENEFIT Barnes & Noble Kahala hosts a benefit book fair for Sacred Hearts Academy and Saint Louis School May 7-9, with up to 25 percent of receipts going to the schools.A downloaded voucher is required. Call 737-3323.

* ROLLER DERBY Pacific Roller Derby has a doubleheader at 4 p.m. May 8 at its home rink at Kamiloiki Community Park with the All-Stars vs. Sonoma County and the B Team vs. Wicked Wahine. * KCC ART SHOW Koa Gallery at KCC presents its annual Student Art Show - the “biggest art show of the year”- through May 8, featuring works by nearly 300 students in various media, including award-winning animation and graphic arts.
