* HANAUMA TALKS Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve hosts free lectures and films on “The Coastal Craze” at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 3 and each Thursday this month in the education center. Call 397-5840.

* BOOKZILLA Friends of Kaimuki Library have a Bookzilla book sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 5 in the library parking lot; books are $1 each plus CDs, DVDs, videos and more. Fun Fun the Clown, face painting and balloon art also are planned. Call 733-8422.
* LIBRARY CLOSURES Area public libraries are closed Sept.5-7 for Labor Day weekend. Public schools are closed Sept. 7.
* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 6 and 3 to 7 p.m. Sept. 15 at Hawaii Kai Towne Center; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 16 at Chaminade University’s Ching conference Center; 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 27 at Kahala Mall by Macy’s men’s department; 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at KCC (behind Ohia building cafeteria); and 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 4 at Hawaii Kai Towne Center.
