* SCHOOL CLOSURES All public schools and libraries are closed Nov. 4 for the General Election and Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.
* NEIGHBORS Area neighborhood boards meeting at 7 p.m. this month include: Kuliouou Nov. 6 at Aina Haina Library; Palolo Nov. 12 in the Palolo Elementary School cafeteria; Diamond Head-Kapahulu-St. Louis Heights Nov. 13 at the Ala Wai Clubhouse; Kaimuki Nov. 19 in the Liliuokalani Elementary School cafeteria; Waialae-Kahala Nov. 20 at Wesley United Methodist Church; and Hawaii Kai Nov. 25 in the Hahaione Elementary School cafeteria. * CRAFT FAIR The “Season’s Best” Kaimuki Craft & Gift Fair is open from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at Aliiolani Elementary School. Call 683-6064.
* WALDORFAIRE The annual Honolulu Waldorfaire is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 8 at 350 Ulua St. in Niu Valley, featuring live music, food booths by professional chefs, pony rides, circus acts, crafts, pumpkin rolling and much more. Call 377-5489, ext. 2.
* WAIALAE HIKE The Hawaiian Trail & Mountain Club leads a 4-mile, intermediate ridge hike to Wiliwilinui in Waialae Iki at 8 a.m. Nov. 8. Go to http://www.htmclub.org.
* BLOOD DRIVES The Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at Hawaii Kai Towne Center, from 9 am. to 4 p.m. Nov. 10 at Chaminade University (below Ching Hall), from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17 at Kapiolani Community College, and from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at Kahala Mall by Macy’s. * TRUST WORKSHOP A workshop on how to protect yourself and your family through trusts and powers of attorney is set for 6 p.m. Nov. 10 at Kapiolani Community College, led by attorney Libby Tomar. Fee is $25. Call 734-9211.
* BAND FEST The Kaiser and Kalani high school bands perform in the UH Rainbow Invitational Marching Band Festival at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at Aloha Stadium. Admission is $7 and $5. Call 956-7657.
