Brad Mezurashi of Kaneohe and Arlette St. Romain Meader of Kailua have roles in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, opening Friday at Diamond Head Theatre (733-0277) and billed as a “wildly warm-hearted theatrical experience” based on the unfinished book by Charles Dickens. As for their day jobs, Brad teaches sixth grade at Mokapu Elementary School and Arlette is an environmental consultant.

Arlette is married to Andrew Meader, who was recently HPU’s Windward theater manager… Laine Yoshioka, valedictorian for Castle High in 2001, collected her B.S. in business administration and marketing summa cum laude at Hawaii Pacific University in January. Laine is also an actress and budding filmmaker ... Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today (March 22) at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe for Army Col. Frank Steer, Kailua’s 2004 parade grand marshall who, at 105, was the West Point’s oldest graduate. An honorary major general “on active duty,” the World War I and II soldier lived with his daughters in Kailua until recently. Donations in his name may be sent to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
