Luci Dwight can tell you a thing or two about kidneys: She donated one of hers to her father in 2003. Now the Kailua resident is public education coordinator for the Organ Donor Center of Hawaii. Luci’s mission is to raise awareness of the critical need for organ and tissue donors, which she will do through building a speaker’s bureau and building relationships with groups throughout the community ... The Hawaii Society of Corporate Planners will get an earful from Windward tourism experts during a panel discussion Thursday in Waikiki. The panel includes Kailua’s Frank Haas (vp of marketing for the Hawaii Tourism Authority) and Kaneohe’s Annette “Kolea” Kaohelaulii of the Hawaii Ecotourism Association. Kaneohe author and filmmaker Paul Berry will moderate. Annette recently helped develop the Hawaii Wildlife Viewing Guide, which is being launched on Valentine’s Day at Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii in Ward Warehouse. “We (the steering committee) spent several years planning and putting together this guide book,” she explains. “It’s almost like I am having a baby on Feb. 14!” ...
