A familiar face to Windward music fans, Clarke Bright will soon take up the baton of Royal Hawaiian Band director. The mayor nominated him this month, and he should win easy City Council approval. One of the talented sons of Ron Bright, Clarke has directed bands from Waimanalo to New Hope to Castle High to Paliku Theatre. He’s been a percussionist in the 111th Army National Guard Band, as well as Kamehameha Schools (current) ...
Psychology professor and Castle grad Kelly Chang (whom I know well) discovered that she is listed as a reference in a scholarly article on positive psychology in Wikipedia “and I didn’t even put it there!” she says. Her dean and colleagues in George Fox University’s psych department examined and analyzed the footnote carefully and diagnosed it as “uber-cool”
