Lex Brodie’s Tire Company was founded back in 1964 by Lex Brodie himself in its old stomping grounds at 701 Queen St. Today, with four additional locations islandwide, Lex Brodie’s continues to be a staple in Hawaii and upholds its legendary customer service and total dedication to customer satisfaction.
Scott D. Williams serves as president of the company, overseeing operations and marketing.
“We have a great management team and employees who all contribute to the success of the company. We are constantly listening to our customers’ feedback and looking for ways to improve our services,” says Williams, who joined the company in 1986.
Williams and his team are committed to being environmentally friendly, and are in the process of launching the Web site http://www.GreenFleetHawaii.com, which is designed so other companies can join Lex Brodie’s as a sponsor to help promote healthy activities that are good for the individual, environment and the community.
“We’ve also put together the GreenFleetHawaii Super Check Up, which is a really good value and a way to help save time and money while helping extend your vehicle’s tires and gas mileage - all while reducing its impact on the environment,” he explains.
In addition to dedicating his time to GreenFleetHawaii, the Roosevelt High School grad and the rest of the Lex Brodie’s ohana recently celebrated Brodie’s 95th birthday and presented their 50th Thank You ... Very Much Award to Kaily Preza of Kawananakoa Middle School, who thanked Leila Inamine last week on the Perry & Price show at Jimmy Buffett’s. The monthly award was conceived in 2004 in honor of Brodie’s efforts and years of service to the Board of Education and his dedication to personally thanking his customers.
“A sincere and heartfelt display of appreciation with a hearty ‘Thank You ... Very Much’ strengthens relationships and heals,” Williams states. “Fostering the spirit of appreciation in our youth opens doors and brightens futures.”
Williams last appeared on MidWeek‘s cover in August 2006 and now, along with taking on the role as president of the company, he joined the Institute for Human Services (IHS) board, helps to coach his son’s baseball and football teams, and has claimed the duties of assistant Cub Scout master.
In a period of harsh economic times, Williams remains positive that Lex Brodie’s Tire Company and its legacy will live on for years to come.
“We have faced adversity in the past that has prepared us for the current tough market. We have been diligent with reducing waste while constantly striving to improve our services,” he says.
