Dirk Arthur’s Xtreme Magic show has been
wowing audiences for a year at the Tropicana.
Uh, where’d that chopper come from?
CONGRATS TO Dirk Arthur, who’s celebrating his first year at the Tropicana Resort and Casino. His show has also been extended until April 2006. Xtreme Magic is one of the biggest afternoon production shows, and it features big cats (Bengal tiger, white-striped tigers, a pure white snow tiger, a black African tiger and spotted leopards) ... and it’s got big illusions. He makes an Amtrak train and a helicopter appear out of nowhere.
IF YOU LIKE puppets on Viagra, hurry and see Avenue Q at the Wynn Las Vegas before it closes in May. Steve Wynn says the show was not selling as well as predicted. So instead of building a new theater for Spamalot (the Monty Python play about the stuff we put in musubi) he’ll just convert the $40 million Avenue Q Theater. Spamalot should be opening by next February.
EVER HEAR of a liquid fortune cookie? No, I haven’t been dipping into the jiu. After dining at Fin’s, the new Chinese Restaurant in the Mirage, Chef Choi presents guests with a liquid fortune cookie made with fresh cream, Bailey’s and Amaretto pistachio cream, served chilled with a homemade fortune cookie.
THE LAS VEGAS Hilton hosts “The World Series of Blackjack” finals (you know, the one we watch on GSN, Oceanic Cable 435). The total prize pool is $1 million and the winner takes home $500,000!
