STANLEY FUJITAKE’S record has been broken ... sort of. The Captain (short for the Captain of Craps) rolled 147 straight in two hours and 18 minutes; Fujitake has had 114 passes in three hours and six minutes. So the Captain has the Continuous Pass Line (CPL) record, and Fujitake the Time Spent on the Table (TST) record. Either way, there’s not much many would sacrifice for just one roll of half the length. The 83-year-old Captain broke the record established by Fujitake in 1989 at the Cal. MAYOR Oscar Goodman, whose resume includes being the official attorney for the Mob, has suggested that people caught defacing freeways with graffiti should have their thumbs cut off on television (hey, another reality show). I’ll bet you he could enforce this with a single well-placed phone call.

WANNA know why Paul Lam, the Toyota Hawaii advertising guru, is smiling? Auto manufacturers don’t unveil their new cars at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show in Vegas (it’s an after market auto parts show). This year, however, Toyota debuted the new Rav4 and Yaris and was immediately the hit of the show. Get your order in early - these will be as difficult to buy as a Toyota hybrid during a gas shortage.
