WELCOME TO Kimo’s Vegas ... The Player’s Edge!
“I DO” ... That’s what Paris and Piers (Hilton and Morgan) said to each other in Vegas last week. The Little Church of the West was home of the unofficial ceremony that was all a setup for the winner of Celebrity Apprentice‘s new British television show. The stereotypical Vegas wedding was witnessed by a Marilyn Monroe and an Elvis impersonator.
ADD DJ TIMBO to the list of bimbos cashing in on Tiger Woods’ woes ... He held a release party for his latest single, Just Do It - Hit This Tiger Woods,at the Hawaiian Tropic Zone in Vegas last week.
REPS FOR THE Tiger Woods Foundation and the MGM Grand are saying plans for the annual Tiger Jam benefit concert are proceeding. To date, the event has raised more than $10 million for charity.
EVERYONE’S TALKING about the new poker room in the Aria Casino. In addition to the tables for us regular folks, it also has a high-limit room that may be called “Phil’s Room,” in homage to Phil Ivey, who’s been called the Tiger Woods of poker.

THE 2009 quote of the year belongs to the owner of Treasure Island, Phil Ruffin, who said, “I bet three-quarters of a billion dollars that things will be good on the Las Vegas Strip by 2020, so I hope I’m right.” He also went on to say, “I think the local market will come back strong and that Boyd Gaming and Station Casinos will be key players. Boyd is a great operator, and Station has some great locations.”
THAT MAY BE why our friends at Boyd Gaming Corp. offered $2.45 billion in cash and assumed debt for most of the Station Casinos’ company.
THE “IT LIST” is a collection of the year’s 45 best new hotels, according to Travel and Leisure magazine. This year the only Vegas hotel to be “it” is Steve Wynn’s $2.3 billion Encore.
GOT TO ROLL ME, call me the tumblin’dice ... Not wanting to let the MGM CityCenter have all the fun, execs at Planet Hollywood and Hard Rock have thrown the proverbial dice and rolled their own down-economy crapshoot: a 1,201-room PH tower and 374-room HRH tower.
CONGRATS TO Richard Pang of Waianae, who won $9,920, and Geraldine Wabinga of Haleiwa, who won $10,000 at the Fremont.
GREAT ROOM DEALS top my list of reasons to “go Vegas,” but a close second are the new all-day, all-youcan-eat buffet passes. For $19.99 most days at the Strat, $25 at the Luxor and $29.99 at the MGM Grand, you get an all-you-can-eat, all-day pass good for the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets.
AT THE GOLDEN Nugget Casino, host John Giannos says they’ve got two tourneys coming up with $50,000 in first prize $$$! The Triple Reel Deal Slot Tourney is Jan. 22 and the Head-Up-Slot Tournament Feb. 19. Feeling lucky? Call him for more details.
FOR THE FIRST TIME in 21 months, the air passenger volume at McCarran International Airport was up (month over month). November’s passenger count was up only 0.1percent for a total of 3,234,705 arrivals ... Not much, but these days a win is a win!
