THE “KISS ALIVE 35” 2009 North American Tour pulls a one night stand at the Pearl in the Palms Saturday, Nov. 28. Named after their 35 years of Rockin’ and Rollin’All Nite, the tour will feature the band’s biggest hits and songs from their first new album in 11 years called Sonic Boom. Get it tomorrow exclusively at WalMart and Sam’s Club along with KISS-branded merchandise that includes everything from condoms to Mr. Potato Heads.
MR. VEGAS, Wayne Newton, celebrates 50 years of entertaining in “Once Before I Go” starting Oct. 14 at the Tropicana.
UP, UP AND AWAY ... Tethered at the Mandalay Bay is the world’s largest helium balloon (smaller versions are in Paris, Hong Kong and Dubai). Eleven stories high and seven stories wide, the giant Cloud 9 balloon can carry up to 30 passengers 500 feet into the desert sky and offer an unparalleled view of the Strip.
“LET THE GAMES BEGIN…” Fright Dome at Circus Circus has two new SAW-themed haunted houses this year complete with all the trappings. The 30,000-square-foot Adventure Dome is open nightly from 7 p.m. to midnight and features five haunted houses, freak shows and themed rides.
PARIS GETS BUSTED ... Clark County inspectors have issued 20 building code violations to Paris Las Vegas for unpermitted or sub-standard renovation work.

PARIS HILTON revealed her new line of designer eye-wear last week at the Hard Rock. A partnership with Gripping Eyewear, the heiress’s shades feature magnets on the temples (the actual name of the part that extends from the lens over your ear) so you can clip them to anything metal, like the huge Chanel buckle on your purse.
VEGAS ENTREPRENEUR Bob Stupak (67) died last week from leukemia. In a city where wild and crazy are the norm, he pushed the city limits of outrageous by betting $1 million on a Super Bowl, winning a World Series of Poker tournament, and building Vegas World and the 1,149-foot Stratosphere tower complete with a rooftop roller coaster.
THE ROCKEFELLER Institute of Government reports that, for the first time in 20 years, state revenues from all sources of authorized gambling fell 2.8 percent in fiscal 2009.

STARDUST MEMORIES ... The Fontainebleau Las Vegas filed for bankruptcy protection late last Tuesday night, weeks after lenders refused to fund more construction at the $3 billion project. The Chapter 11 filing marked the biggest setback yet for the Soffers, one of South Florida’s legendary real estate families, and adds to the woes facing the project’s namesake, the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. Both properties are owned by Fontainebleau Resorts, which Jeffrey Soffer formed after purchasing the iconic Miami Beach hotel in 2005. He is a partner in Turnberry Associates, the real estate firm founded by his father Donald, who made his fortune developing Aventura out of swampland.
ECHELON IS on permanent hiatus. Construction stopped last year and reportedly is not expected to resume for at least three more years.
