STEVE WYNN has upped the ante on his proposed $1.4 billion Encore hotel that is the complement to his $2.7 billion Wynn Las Vegas hotel. The room count in Encore has been upped from 1,750 to 2,750 with an additional 100,000 square feet of shopping, indoor and outdoor dining and convention space, and a 50,000-square-foot casino.

THE WPT has announced the return of the Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship to the Bellagio Oct. 18-21. The tournament is a tribute to Brunson, who captured the first of his nine World Champion bracelets in 1976. Look for Carlos “The Matador” Mortensen’s return to defend his title.

Orient Casino Mogul Stanley Ho got the green light from the Macau government to build the City of Dreams resort.
