FOODIE ALERT ... Las Vegas has a record 17 Michelin Guide award-winning restaurants including 13 one-star, three two-star and, for the second year in a row, Joel Robuchon has been awarded the guide’s ultimate rating of three stars. The “Chef of the Century’s” self-titled restaurant is the only triple banger to be found in all of L.A. or Las Vegas, and has gotten a Mobil 5 Star and AAA 5 Diamond award as well. The 16-course tasting menu runs about $385 per person and formal attire is required.
AT THE INAUGURAL Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event in Las Vegas, money was not an object for the folks who dropped $29 million on exotic automobiles at the Mandalay Bay. When the auctioneer’s hammer dropped, the most expensive car sold was a 2006 Mustang that once belonged to DJ Funkmaster Flex, and all the proceeds went to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The car Carroll Shelby said “changed his life” - a 1949 MG TC - sold for $313,500 and the same bidder paid $237,000 for a 2007 Saleen S7 ... something to remember the next time the other half says she’s going shopping. HUH… Apparently a bomb dummy unit known by the acronym BDU-33 accidentally fell from the sky and crashed into a truck on the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Beasley Avenue, bursting into pieces and leaving a trail of smoke ... Now who’s the dummy?

ACCORDING TO the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, total occupancy in Las Vegas dropped from 91.2 percent to 88.3 percent in the last year, and the average room rate dropped from $126.38 to $107.01. Airline traffic is off about 10 percent, and vehicle traffic on I15 at the California border is down 5.5 percent (a statistic that’s soon to go back up as the cost of gas goes down).
JERRY SEINFELD guest stars in this year’s The Comedy Festival at Caesars Palace. The three-day lineup begins Nov. 20 and includes Ellen DeGeneres, Joan Rivers and Andrew Dice Clay, and will broadcast on TBS.
