SIMBA ROARS into the Mandalay Bay with previews of The Lion King in April and a May 2, 2009, grand opening. Disney Theatrical Productions says the staging will be identical to the original production. It’s a lock (sure bet) that the Vegas version will run somewhere south of the Broadway show’s 3-hour length. The six-time Tony Award winning is replacing the longest-running musical in the history of the Vegas Strip. Mamma Mia! sevens out after more than 2,200 performances on Jan. 4.
