WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas ... The Player’s Edge!

PAMELA ANDERSON was “auctioned off” in the United Arab Emirates to raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation. The winning bidder paid $62,000 for dinner with the ex-Planet Hollywood, Beauty of Magic showgirl ... now that’s some expensive mastication. Fans with too much money also will wanna check out next week’s Julien’s Auctions when the blonde’s Dodge Viper goes on the block, with all the proceeds going to PETA.

THEY’LL BE playing for $50,000 June 21 and 22 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino ... It’s not a blackjack tournament or a high-stakes game, but the USA Rock Paper Scissors League’s World Championship. Three hundred finalists will arrive from all over the globe including Canada, Guam, Hong Kong, Ireland and Malaysia just to jan ken po.

THERE’S A NEW card game hitting the Vegas casinos called Asia Poker and it’s based on the ancient Chinese game “13.” Each player is dealt seven cards and must make a one-card hand, a two-card hand and a four-card hand. Like Pai Gow Poker, there’s a high hand, a medium hand and a low hand - the four-card high hand must be equal to or higher in rank than the two-card (medium hand), and the two-card hand must be equal to or higher in rank than the one-card (low hand). To win, at least two of the three hands have to be higher than the dealer ... if all three hands equal the dealer it’s a copy (push) and the dealer wins.

FOR THE FIRST TIME in 18 years, Morris Day and the Time (with Terry Lewis on bass and Jimmy Jam on keyboards) reunite for a limited engagement at the Flamingo starting June 24. The reunion began at this year’s

Grammy Awards and expanded to Vegas because, as Morris Day says, “I figured when Elvis made his long-awaited return to the stage he did it in Vegas, so if it was good enough for the King, it’s cool with me!”

THIS MONTH on Oceanic Cable’s Around Hawaii, part 2 of our interview with The Cal’s John Repetti and Jeff Wise about Stanley Fujitake’s historic run at the craps table - a record three hours and six minutes that has yet to be beaten 19 years later!

SO FAR the airline industry has announced a 12 percent reduction in flights to Las Vegas starting in October. Banking and tourism execs are concerned because decreased flights plus increased room capacity equals more empty rooms. New projects, The Wynn Encore and MGM MIRAGE City Center, and planned expansions at the Hard Rock and Caesars Palace will add about 11,445 rooms to the estimated 62,928 currently on the Strip. Expect to get better deals on rooms to offset the higher cost of travel, but beware of the higher odds in the casino to offset the lower room rates.

CATCHING THE BUS is catching on ... The high cost of car juice is increasing the ridership of “DaBus” and its Vegas cousin “The CAT.” Officials say there are almost 600,000 more people taking the bus in Sin City and more riders mean longer stops, so plan for a little extra transit time. Next summer the city will have its own version of our “Express Bus” called the “Ace Bus,” which makes fewer stops and has its own lanes.
