WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas ... The Player’s Edge!
POKER PROS Vanessa Rousso, Howard Lederer, Victor Ramdin and more than 100 members of the Poker Players’ Association (PPA) met with Capitol Hill law-makers. The show of force was in support of two bills that modify the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act’s ban on online gambling. The association is trying to convince Congress that poker is a game of skill and should be grouped with other games of skill like bridge and backgammon. The PPA has 800,000 registered professional and amateur members.
VEGAS FIVE-O is recruiting officers for the North Las Vegas Police Department. Applicants must be a high school grad (or GED), at least 21, a U.S. citizen with a valid driver’s license and, of course, have no convictions.

MORE THAN 1,000 Hawaii residents went to Vegas for the UH-UNLV football game with Panda Travel. To ensure you have the perfect trip, they’ve opened a dedicated “Las Vegas Desk” under the auspices of John Defreitas, who designs all their Vegas deals, and experts Velvet Espinda, Michael Tamanaha and Vern Maunakea. OR IF YOU’RE looking for a poppin’ New Year’s in slot machine city ... join Lindsay Lohan at Pure in Caesars (pay-back for not showing up because of her DUI) or Jay Z and his athlete and celebrity friends at The 40/40 Club in the Venetian’s new Palazzo.
WE ALL KNOW that The Divine Miss M will be one of the resident divas replacing Celine Dion. Cher was rumored to be alternating nights with Bette and Elton, but a deal could not be reached ... new names in consideration are Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Stevie Wonder.

SPEAKING OF RUMORS ... hurry if you plan to see The Producers at Paris - the musical starring Tony Danza got its number pulled and, like Avenue Q, will soon be a part of Vegas history.
THE HILTON is home to the biggest suite in Vegas. The Verona Sky Villa is larger than some island homes - make that larger than most Honolulu residential lots. The 15,400-square-foot palace of all hotel rooms has everything -Italian marble floors, hand-painted ceilings, bronze and marble statues, a private garden, pool and anything else you can imagine - in a place where the mini-bar is larger than the bar at Murphy’s. Let me know if you need someone to keep you company in the $17,500-a-night suite.
NOTHING IN VEGAS is exempt from remodeling ... residents often joke that construction crews start on one end of the hotel and when they’re done at the other end, they go back and start all over again. With a new artificial reef, 20,000 gallons of water and more than 1,000 marine life forms, the newly remodeled aquarium behind the front desk of the Mandalay Bay is now open.
