WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas ... The Player’s Edge!
Will Smith
WILL SMITH is considering doing a flick on the bestselling book Cooked. It’s the life story of Jeff Henderson, the executive chef at Café Bellagio who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for dealing cocaine, but got out in nine and worked his way up from dishwasher. I know it sounds like his last movie, but what a great story.

NEXT TIME someone wants to repay you using a casino chip, you might wanna reconsider ... Nevada law says chips are the property of individual casinos and their use is prohibited for any monetary purpose outside the casino. So when you try to cash in a chip valued at $1,000 or more, the casino is under no obligation to pay you if you didn’t get the chip playing in the casino. The exception to the rule is the chips given as tokes (tips) to casino employees - “In God We Trust ... Everyone Else, Pay Cash”!
WAYNE BRADY picked up a gig at the Venetian. He joins the 9:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday comedy lineup for the month of April.
SPEAKING OF The Venetian, it is spending $100 million to renovate the rooms of the $1.5 billion resort. That should put the Venice-themed property on par with the company’s new Palazzo resort that’s opening later this year. When the construction is done, the combined properties will have more than 7,000 rooms.
DID YOU KNOW ... that Las Vegas is the housecleaning capital of the world? The city employs 21,499 professional room cleaners, who do about one room every half hour and get paid about $4.50 per room plus what little they get in tips. Something to consider next time you put the “maid sign” on your hotel room door.
FOR THE FIRST time in 30 years, The Dark Side of the Moon will be performed live by Roger Waters, co-founder of Pink Floyd. The show will feature large-scale video projections, elaborate lighting and state-of-the-art 360-degree quadraphonic sound. The album was on the Billboard top 200 for more than 15 years! Check it out June 16 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
ROY YAMAGUCHI has added an untraditional menu of sushi called Yamaguchi Sushi that includes the Lakanilau Roll (Kobe beef wrapped around crab, tempura asparagus and avocado with sesame miso and kabayaki), Auntie Lei’s Aloha Roll (spicy tuna topped with salmon, yellowtail and avocado with Hawaiian ginger ponzu), and the Sunrise at Haleakala (tuna, hamachi, salmon, asparagus and avocado tempura roll with Dynamite Butter Sauce). Right now, the new sushi menu is limited to the two Vegas Roy’s restaurants (like we need an excuse to go Vegas).
