IF THE New Year’s sky over Aiea, Palolo and Kalihi are any indication, we love aerials and things that go boom. Just north of Vegas on I-15 in the Paiute nation of the Valley of Fire you’ll find ... a fireworks store. Giant sky rockets, Roman candles, 100,000 TAU stings, M88s and more can be bought anytime without the threat of arrest. Even better, just off the parking lot is a huge field with the sign “fireworks launching pads.”

SPEAKING OF things that go boom ... sometime in mid-March The STARDUST will be imploded. The date will be announced a couple of weeks out. Clark County, however, will not issue the permits until a few hours before the event for public safety.
