Shopping Fpr Gowns At Neiman Marcus
Wednesday - March 28, 2007
Neiman Marcus presents its annual ConTempo Gala on Saturday, April 21 and recently held an exclusive VIP preview of the latest styles in evening wear to help attendees prepare for the formal event.
According to Neiman Marcus, some of the hottest trends in evening wear this spring include metallics (from trimming and embroidery details to covering the entire dress), empire waist (very flattering for every figure), feminine details (such as rosettes), jewels (beading and/or sequins), halter silhouettes, ruching (ruched bodices on a variety of gowns, from strapless to Grecian dresses), and floral/botanical prints. Also look for dresses made of soft, feminine fabrics such as chiffon, as well as jersey knits.
A highlight of the ConTempo Gala is the art sale with about 20 different pieces created by both local and Mainland artists. All art will be on display from April 6 through April 21 at Neiman Marcus on the first floor near the escalators.
“Throughout the years Neiman Marcus has had a strong relationship with the arts and supporting the arts, starting with Stanley Marcus who himself started the Neiman Marcus art collection,” said Lucy Chelini, public relations manager.
Tickets to the ConTempo Gala, a benefit for the Contemporary Museum in Makiki, are already sold out. However, anyone can purchase any of the pieces in the art sale, starting April 12. For more information, contact Allison Wong at the Contemporary Museum at 237-5215.
