Pearlridge Center Welcomes New Stores
Pearlridge Center welcomes new retailers and eateries in coming months, including Bed Bath & Beyond, Aeropostale (Uptown, first level), JHL Jewelry (Uptown, first level), Panda Express (Uptown, first level), Sanrio Cafe (Downtown, second level) and Vans (Downtown, second level).
This will be Bed Bath & Beyond’s first Hawaii store, and is scheduled to open late this summer in the nearly 66,000-square-foot former Circuit City location. Bed Bath & Beyond’s extensive line of merchandise includes bed linens, bath accessories, window treatments, kitchen linens, as well as cookware, dinnerware, glassware, lifestyle accessories, closet and storage items, and juvenile items.
Aeropostale will open this spring in the 2,900-square-foot former Honolua Surf Company location. The store carries fashion-forward casual apparel and accessories for young men and women.
JHL Jewelry will open this spring in the 500-square-foot former location of W.C. Jewelry and features fine women’s and men’s jewelry, gifts and timepieces.
Sanrio Cafe is scheduled to open this month as the only Sanrio-licensed eatery in the nation. Partners Ben Chow and Cyrus Goo will offer pastries, sandwiches, fruit salads and other tasty creations inspired by Sanrio characters, such as Hello Kitty, Pochacco and Keroppi. Other selections include specialty coffees, teas and smoothies. Goo, an award-winning pastry chef from Cafe Laufer, will focus on establishing the Sanrio Cafe as a healthy-eating landmark for the entire family.
Martin & MacArthur Opens At Hilton Hawaiian Village
Martin & MacArthur opened its fifth retail showroom last Friday in the Hilton Hawaiian Village with a free-standing building measuring 1,700 square feet located off the Tapa Tower and Rainbow Drive.
The new Waikiki store is the third Martin & MacArthur location on Oahu, joining sites at Ward Centre and Ala Moana Center. Its other retail locations are on Maui at Whaler’s Village and The Shops at Wailea.
As with all Martin & MacArthur stores, the new location features the company’s own koa furniture and home accessories - all made in Hawaii. Additionally, the store will feature home furnishings made by more than 100 artisans from across the Islands who specialize in creating items for elegant living in Hawaii.
Also, in a unique agreement with the Hilton Hawaiian Village, the new Martin & MacArthur store will host regular, ongoing events for hotel guests and kamaaina alike. These will include the following hands-on classes and demonstrations: * Feather lei-making with award-winning artisan Boris Huang. * Kapa pounding with native Hawaiian artist Dalani Tanahy. * Hawaiian stuffed-bear making with Sheri Lee. * Jewelry making with various local artists.
Also, renowned Oahu painters such as Tim Nguyen will be featured on a regular basis.
In celebration of the opening of the new Hilton Hawaiian Village store, Martin & MacArthur will host a koa furniture sale at all locations, including its Honolulu furniture workshop at 1815 Kahai St. in Kalihi. All koa furniture will be on sale at up to 50 percent off through March 8.
