GIVEandGET Weekend at Ward Centers
Shoppers can support their favorite local nonprofit or school group and also receive great shopping and dining discounts during Ward Centers’ GIVEandGET Weekend April 8-10. More than 50 nonprofit and school groups have begun selling $10 tickets for GIVEandGET Weekend, which give shoppers exclusive discounts and special offers from more than 90 participating shops and restaurants throughout Ward Centers. One hundred percent of the ticket proceeds will go to the organization selling the tickets. Participating organizations include Ballet Hawaii, The Children’s Outreach Foundation, Hawaii Foodbank, Hongwanji Mission School, Leilehua High School Class of 2011 Leadership, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, McKinley Band Boosters, PATCH (People Attentive to Children), Susannah Wesley Community Center and Waialua High School Social Studies Exchange. Tickets also will be sold on site during GIVEandGET Weekend.
Also, in celebration of Earth Month (April), University of Hawaii at Manoa Apparel Product Design & Merchandising Program students will dress mannequins with garments and accessories crafted entirely from recyclables, such as trash bags, soda cans and newspapers.
The mannequins will be on display at Ward Centre April 2-27, and shoppers are invited to view the eco-chic mannequins and vote for their favorite. Shoppers who vote will automatically be entered to win a $100 Ward Centers dining certificate.
