Macy’s Community Shopping Day
Oahu Macy’s stores and Macy’s Kaahumanu on Maui have begun selling $10 tickets for this year’s Community Shopping Day on Friday, June 16. Community Shopping Day is a Macy’s program that gives nonprofit groups the chance to raise money for programs in their communities while offering savings to participating Macy’s shoppers. Tickets give shoppers 10 to 20 percent discounts on almost all purchases made on June 16, while participating nonprofits keep 100 percent of the proceeds from direct ticket sales and also share in-store ticket sale proceeds. On Oahu, tickets can be bought and redeemed at the register in any Macy’s store. Shoppers can also buy tickets in advance directly from their favorite participating nonprofit.
Customers will also enjoy a gift with purchase in select departments, as well as special guest appearances, entertainment and more. Customers also can enter to win a Macy’s shopping spree valued at $500.

FATHER’S DAY AT KAHALA MALL
On Saturday, June 17, beginning at 11 a.m., stop by Kahala Mall Center Court for a Talk Story session and discover the process of shaping a custom surfboard from a blank with Town & Country Surf Shop’s resident shaper, Glenn Pang.
At noon, jam to the vintage surf sounds of Tiki Taboo, performing live at Center Court. And during mall hours, anyone who appreciates the sport of surfing and wave riding legends will also want to visit the Surf Photography Exhibition, featuring the classic artistry of Reyn’s owner and ’60s surf photographer Tim McCullough, and the edgy stylings of Zac Noyle. The exhibit will be open to the public through Sunday, June 18. All events are free.
Also on Saturday, June 17, drop in to enter to win a variety of prizes, including tickets to the Beach Boys concert, the Monopoly Surfing Edition game from Barnes & Noble, and the grand prize: a T&C surfboard valued at up to $500. Nohea Gallery Happenings
On Saturday June 18, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Naoki Hayashi will be at Nohea Gallery at Ward Warehouse, making gyotaku fish prints. Keiki can make their own fishprint free. For more information, call 596-0074.
