Island Slipper hosts a grand-opening celebration of its new Ward Warehouse location April 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with entertainment by Makana, Jeff Peterson, Puamana and Ernie Cruz Jr. The event is free and open to the public.
The store also will be collecting donations for the Surfrider Spirit Sessions throughout the day.
“We’re calling it a Slippahpalooza,” jokes owner John Carpenter.
Previously located next to The Liquor Collection, The Island Slipper Store is now on the ewa end of Ward Warehouse, next to Merle Norman, across from the food court.

Shop, Save and Show Your Aloha For Japan At Ala Moana Center
Enjoy spring savings while supporting the Japan earthquake and tsunami relief effort at Ala Moana Center. From April 15 to 17, participating merchants at Ala Moana Center will offer special in-store savings, sidewalk specials and exclusive tsunami relief fundraising products. Additionally, shoppers will receive a free RuMe bag and a donation of $5 will be made to the American Red Cross on their behalf just by turning in their same-day receipts totaling $75 or more to Ala Moana’s Customer Service Center. One gift with purchase per person, while supplies last. Gift card purchases are excluded.
“We continue to send our thoughts and prayers to the people of Japan impacted by the devastation of the recent earthquake and tsunami,” said Scott Creel, senior marketing manager at Ala Moana Center. “The Japanese people hold a special place in our hearts. Over the years, they have been loyal customers and friends and now this is our opportunity to support them during their time of need.”
More than 35 participating stores also will be giving shoppers an opportunity to shop and save for this good cause, including Blue Hawaii Lifestyle, Kate Spade, Hawaiian Island Creations, Folli Follie, Sanrio and more.
