Honolulu City Lights Ornaments
The Friends of Honolulu City Lights have created two ornaments this year in recognition of the event’s 25th year celebration. All proceeds from the ornament sales help defray the costs of the popular month-long Christmas program.
The brass ornament, the 10th in a series, features the Shaka Santa and Tutu Mele surrounded by an ilima lei with maile accents. They’re holding a birthday cake to mark the event’s silver anniversary. The ornament, designed by Owen Ho, is titled Hauoli la Hanau (Happy Birthday).
The Friends also have created a limited-edition commemorative silver ornament that will be available only during 2009. Designed as a Hawaiian snowflake reflecting local quilt patterns, the ornament features the event’s 25th year in its center.
Both ornaments are available for $18 each at all Macy’s on Oahu. They also can be purchased at the Friends’Web site at www.honolulucitylights.org for $21 each, which includes shipping and handling.
The brass ornament can be purchased at all branches of First Hawaiian Bank and at Borders Books stores at Windward Mall, Pearlridge, Waikele and Ward Centre.
The Friends also have designed two unique T-shirts this year to celebrate the 25th year: One is a scoopneck for women and features the Hawaiian snowflake silver ornament; the other, available in children’s and adult’s sizes, features Shaka Santa and Mele celebrating the event’s silver anniversary.
Prices range from $10 to $14 and will be on sale on opening night Saturday, Dec. 5, and most nights in front of Honolulu Hale. For more information, visit www.honolulucitylights.org.
Glam God Winner Indashio In Hawaii
VH1’s Glam God winner Indashio will bring his spring 2010 Jet Set collection to Hawaii with a fashion show Dec. 5 at Level4 in Royal Hawaiian Center. Show starts at 8 p.m.
The Jet Set Collection is inspired by Indashio’s world travels, which include Antigua, Africa, Europe and Hawaii. The show also will feature Indashio Lip Tar by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. The Glam God himself also will host a meet-and-greet and after party following the fashion show.
Tickets to Indashio’s fashion event, which is presented by Big Ben Entertainment, are $100 (VIP seating and meet and greet access), $40 (general seating) and $20 (strolling/floor). Tickets are available online at www.honoluluboxoffice.com or by phone at 636-9568.
