Fashion Designers Bootcamp
Hawaii Fashion Incubator and Hawaii RED Magazine present Fashion Designers Bootcamp with fashion expert Theo Garcia Aug. 27 at The Venue (1146 Bethel St.). The event, which also includes a presentation by brand expert David Tyreman of World Famous Company, is aimed at emerging student designers, people with an interest in designing, boutique owners and designers who need a refresher.

Tori Richard Shirts For Apec Volunteers
The APEC 2011 Hawaii Host Committee has announced the selection of Tori Richard as the manufacturer of volunteer uniforms in conjunction with the APEC 2011 Leaders’ Week. The family-owned company will be responsible for designing and producing aloha attire uniform apparel to be worn by volunteers for APEC-related activities during APEC 2011 Leaders’ Week Nov. 7 to 13.
The volunteer uniform print will consist of the national flowers of each of the 21 APEC economies, as well as authentic Hawaiian kapa motifs in a traditional aloha shirt gridded pattern. Also integrated into the design is the APEC logo.
The APEC 2011 Leaders’ Week is the culmination of a series of events held throughout the year.
The Leaders’ Meeting on Nov. 12 and 13 is expected to attract about 20,000 attendees including the leaders of the 21 APEC economies, ministers, business leaders and news media.
