Mr. Boyland,
From your latest column: “But of course, in the age of Reagan-Bush-Clinton-Bush - two conservative Republicans, a triangulating Democrat and an idiot”. Can you tell me what good it does to call the president and idiot? Does it just feel good to say it? Does the longevity of your column depend on controversy?
The only thing name calling achieves is to cause me to stop reading. I just can’t remember the other issues in your piece and why should I? By making the “idiot” remark, you just label yourself as another liberal extremist with nothing to offer but spin, hyperbole, and boundless anger. Even though conservative, I want to hear rational liberal voices; yours just isn’t one of them.
